Hi Everybody!Just a quick little update. We had our biophysical profile ultrasound and full anatomy ultrasound on Thursday of last week. Baby Boy Lacny is doing very well! We found out that our little boy is already 5 lbs give or take 12 ounces...WOW! That means he could almost be 6 lbs already with a little less than 7 weeks to go. On average, babies tend to double in weight in between now and 40 weeks. Therefore, our little one could, quite possibly, be a 10 lb happy, healthy baby boy.
Here are just a few things going on with our little one this week...
- His lungs are almost completely mature, meaning that if he was born this week (lets hope he waits a bit longer) he would be good and healthy with only a little help from the NICU
- He is very good at detecting light now and can tell the difference between day and night. His pupils will dilate and constrict in response to low-light and bright conditions
- He will continue to pack on the poundage at a rate of 1/2 lb per week
- Due to all the fat deposits now formed (and continuing to form), his skin is becoming less and less translucent and more opaque
Thanks everyone. Keep checking back for more updates.
Happy New Year!
The Lacnys
